Me

  • Pretty boring, really. Fifty-something, very happily married to Marjorie, two grown up children, and three grandchildren. Retired from a career in electrical engineering. If you want to know any more, you'll have to ask!

My interests

  • I've always been interested in electronics and radio, and since the advent of computers, I've developed a keen interest there also.
  • I really enjoy hill-walking. I've walked all the high fells of the Lake District, much of the Scottish Highlands, and extensively in the Forest of Bowland.
  • I have a latent interest in local history and industrial archeology.

Why I created this website

  • As Mallory said, when asked why he wanted to climb Everest, "Because it is there." So because my ISP provided me with some free webspace to use, and also because I can't resist anything that's free, I decided to make some use of it. This is not my first attempt; in fact it's probably my fourth.
  • Having made a nesting box with a video camera built into it, I was receiving requests as to what was happening inside. A website seemed an ideal medium to share the events with others. I now have two nesting boxes, both equipped with cameras.
  • I fancied having a go.
